Hey there, I'm Mark Joiner.
My experience has shown that life isn't always fair. It can take us down a road that we wouldn't choose for ourselves, and our circumstances can leave us feeling isolated and overwhelmed. While each person's story is private and unique, I believe we all have an inner need share our story, to connect and have other people bear witness to our experiences.
I believe that our stories are actively being written. While we have been influenced by our past, our past does not have to determine who we are to become. Change is possible! I have witnessed the freedom and power of addressing the root of issues rather than chasing symptoms, and I am passionate about working with others to experience that freedom too.
I am a LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) in the state of Missouri. I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary. Additionally, I have been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma recovery and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for working with couples.
"No one ever told me that grief felt so much like fear. I am not afraid, but the sensation is like being afraid. The same fluttering in the stomach, the same restlessness, the yawning. I keep on swallowing."
